Radian collaborated with Covant Therapeutics to create and launch a full-scale brand, visual identity and digital infrastructure for the emerging biotech company developing a first-in-class oral alternative to treat autoimmune diseases.

The situation

Roivant is a multi-billion-dollar biotech company that resources and accelerates promising therapeutic concepts. The ones that work are positioned for clinical trials, large-scale partnerships and commercialization. Covant Therapeutics—an innovative covalent drug discovery concept—was one idea that worked. They just needed the brand and digital infrastructure necessary to elevate as a distinct, investable entity capable of securing capital and partnerships to advance their work.

The approach

Radian met with Covant’s scientific and executive leadership over a series of collaborative workshops designed to accurately distill the complexities of their scientific and technical innovations. We took the output and crafted a compelling brand narrative and visual identity system that balances science and company vision. Enough science to attract top talent and industry partners. Enough vision-casting to become a credible and compelling investment opportunity.

The output

A logo that combines the “V” and “A” letterforms visually represents a covalent bond. Subtle use of patterns based on the logo reinforce the visual connection to the science. Typography, color and custom illustrations create a retro-futuristic look and feel that advocates simplicity as a means to clarity.


Complex science becomes a clear and powerful narrative in plain(ish) language paired with simple yet striking visuals. Meaningful animations enhance clarity and help convey the underlying science behind Covant’s innovations as well as the company’s value proposition for investors.


Photographs from an art-directed photo shoot provide editorial-style insight into the Covant team at work and add a human element to the overall brand narrative.

The platform

A custom-designed and engineered website, built on the powerful Drupal CMS, provides a clean, modern and fully responsive web presence for Covant to promote its science and attract the talent, partnerships and investment it seeks. Branded templates for slide decks ensure a consistent look and feel across parter and investor touchpoints. Assets for common social media platforms round-out the complete digital infrastructure for Covant to reach its target audiences with confidence and clarity.

The impact

Shortly after launch, Covant announced a landmark strategic partnership with global pharmaceutical leader Boehringer Ingelheim—a powerful, third-party validation of Covant’s science, team, and vision.
